Newman’s Own Foundation is a private, US-based independent foundation established in 2005 by the late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman. The Foundation continues Paul’s commitment to making the world a better place by donating all profits and royalties earned from the sale of Paul Newman’s Own and Newman’s Own products to charity. To date over $400 million (USD) has been donated to thousands of charities around the world with over $20 million (USD) to New Zealand and Australian charities.

Empowering Workshops
CanTeen's empowering workshops are designed so patient members, siblings and bereaved family can come together from throughout New Zealand. The workshops provide professional support and development in a safe environment, so they are better able to thrive during and beyond their cancer journey.

Northland District Health Board – Whangarei
Northland Pediatric Cancer Unit
The Children Specialist Outpatient Centre offers much needed support to children with cancer in the Northland region, reducing the need for our families to travel to Auckland which is 2.5hours away by road.



Nutrition grant recipients 2014

In 2014 the focus area of nutrition was chosen by the Foundation in response to an increasing need within the wider community especially in the areas of food insecurity, food waste and its environmental impact. Congratulations to the following charities who received grants in 2014.

Cholmondeley Children's Centre - Christchurch
Nutrition Enhancement Program
This program will provide practical hands on guidance to teach children the basic principles of healthy lifetime eating habits. These skills will be taught using the on-site Cholmondeley garden and cooking facilities.

Feed the Need - Auckland
Winter Boost Program
In 2015 Feed the Need Trust will provide healthy, warming lunches to at least 1,200 primary school children in some of the most deprived neighborhoods in Auckland. They will provide these children with 3 lunch meals per week for approximately 15 weeks during the colder months of the year (June to September).

Franklin Family Support Services – Auckland
Education Garden and Nutrition Program
The Education Garden and Nutrition Program teaches people how to garden organically and prepare healthy meals on a low budget.

Garden to Table Trust - Auckland
Garden to Table Teaching Curriculum
Garden to Table teaches children life skills of gardening and cooking, in a hands–on environment that links the practical to the theory, taught in classrooms, and in which parents and others in the community can be involved as both teachers and learners.
