The 2017 grants are divided into three categories:
Four charities were selected to share in $75,000 USD for projects or services focusing on children with life limiting conditions; HeartKids, Ronald McDonald House South Island, StarJam and Dance Therapy NZ.
A special $100,000 USD grant for disaster relief to Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust to assist with providing air rescue/ambulance services to the Kaikoura/North Canterbury area after the devastating 7.8 earthquake in November 2016 as road access to this area continues to be limited.
A further $50,000 USD to nutrition projects, which remain a core focus area for the Foundation and include programs being initiated by the Fair Food Trust and Food For Thought.
Newman’s Own is celebrating a 35-year milestone of giving in the US this year, with the Foundation’s worldwide charitable donations now exceeding $500 USD million.
